Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic elementary setting close to Minneapolis, MN. This contract position runs from September 1, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and offers the chance to work with a manageable caseload of up to 10 students, each benefiting from the support of paraprofessionals and an intervener.
Your expertise as an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) teacher is especially valued for this role, and candidates must hold a current Special Education licensure through PELSB/MDE. You'll collaborate closely with staff to provide tailored learning experiences and foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education license from PELSB/MDE (must be active)
- Tier 2 or higher teaching credential is required
- Experience as an ASD teacher is highly preferred
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Previous experience working in elementary education settings beneficial
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of up to 10 students, each with unique learning needs
- Work with a team of paraprofessionals and an intervener to support student growth
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Engage families and multidisciplinary teams in supporting student achievement
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Track and report on student progress throughout the academic year
