This position places you at Park Terrace Elementary from September 1, 2026, to June 4, 2027. Here, you will work with a supportive team, manage a manageable caseload of up to 10 students, and benefit from the collaboration of paras and an intervener. As you immerse yourself in a new educational setting, youll gain fresh perspectives on leadership and deepen your expertise in Special Education, especially serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education teaching license (must have PELSB/MDE; candidates without this cannot be considered)
- Tier 2 teaching level
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher; ASD endorsement or background strongly preferred
- Passion for individualized instruction and collaborative problem solving
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of up to 10 students, supported by paras and an intervener
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans, IEP management, and data collection
- Collaborate effectively with families, general education staff, and service providers
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Adapt classroom materials and strategies according to student needs
