Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Alabama Special Education Teaching certification (required for interview consideration)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction techniques
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans tailored to support individual student needs
- Assess students abilities and progress through observation and established evaluations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best educational outcomes
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation as required
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and accommodations
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in special education
