Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving PreK through 3rd grade students in a supportive, specialized educational environment near New Haven, CT. This role focuses on a life skills classroom with a low student-to-teacher ratiojust six students per caseload. Each student receives individualized attention with dedicated 1:1 paraeducator support. Youll also benefit from collaboration with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the classroom.

Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher Certification in Connecticut is required
• Experience working with PreK-3rd grade or similar age groups is desirable
• Background in life skills or discrete trial instruction preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction following students IEPs, focusing on life skills and discrete trial teaching methods
• Partner closely with paraeducators, RBT, and BCBA to ensure optimal support for each student
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Foster a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
• Collaborate with families and support staff to develop and maintain educational programming
