Job Description
Exciting opportunities are available for passionate educators with expertise in special education! Multiple contract positions are open for individuals skilled in supporting students with diverse needs, including those in life skills, transition programs, and structured intensive support classrooms. These roles span a variety of programs such as Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT (life skills/transition/functional academics), and STRIVE (self-contained, behavioral, autism support).
Candidates must be within a 30-minute commute of key locations, with priority near Fairfax, Central, and Hayden. Positions are full-time for the academic year, starting late July through late May.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Demonstrated experience working with students with emotional disabilities and diverse eligibility needs
- Familiarity with supporting at-risk, exceptional, ethnically diverse, and limited English proficient students
- Knowledge in developing and implementing programs adhering to federal, state, and district regulations
- Experience or willingness to participate in Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training
- Strong organizational and documentation skills for special education activities
- Open to working onsite at multiple schools within the district (see school portfolio for locations)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and individualized support to students across a range of caseloads
- Implement IEPs and transition plans for students in specialized programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to promote student success
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment tailored to student strengths and needs
