This assignment will engage you with high school students facing Emotional Behavioral Disorders or severe behavioral challenges, usually in self-contained classrooms. Required Qualifications
- Valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for Secondary grade band
- Ability to demonstrate (or willingness to complete) Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year to comply with the Right to Read Act
- Prior experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorders or severe behavioral needs preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support for high school students in self-contained/sub-separate settings
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
