This contract opportunity, located near Shaftsbury, VT, comes with two distinct openings: one working with middle grade students and another focused on PreK-5th grade learners. Both positions start as soon as possible and are expected to continue through the end of the school year, offering the chance to make a lasting impact in a supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with special education endorsement
• Experience in special education settings, either in middle grades or PreK-5 classrooms
• Proficiency in trauma-informed teaching strategies
• Ability to differentiate instruction and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive, proactive attitude

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with students IEP goals
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Collaborate with regular education teachers, support staff, and families
• Track and document student progress, adapting plans as needed
• Participate in team meetings and maintain appropriate records
• Contribute to a positive school culture, supporting all learners and colleagues
