Special Education Teachers passionate about supporting first and second graders will find this upcoming full-time contract role especially rewarding. Set in a collaborative elementary school environment near Torrington, Connecticut, this role runs from August 2026 through June 2027, offering the chance to make a lasting difference over the academic year.

In this dynamic position, you'll work a Monday through Friday schedule (32.5 to 37.5 hours per week) providing tailored support to a caseload of first and second grade students. Your primary focus will be implementing individualized instructional strategies and fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere where all learners can thrive.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Connecticut)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Proficiency with IEP development, implementation, and documentation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborative work with staff and families
• Flexibility and resourcefulness when supporting diverse learners

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions for students with a range of learning needs in the 1st and 2nd grades
• Manage and update Individualized Education Programs, collaborating closely with classroom teachers and related service providers
• Track and report on student progress, maintaining compliance with local and federal guidelines
• Foster a supportive, engaging classroom environment that encourages student growth
• Participate in school-wide meetings and contribute to a positive school culture
