Shape the future of young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary setting focused on life skills development. This contract opportunity near Waterbury, CT gives you the chance to work hands-on with a small, close-knit caseload of six students from PreK to 3rd grade, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 2027.

Youll teach in a classroom designed for success, featuring a robust support system with one-on-one paraeducators for every student, an RBT onsite, and guidance from a BCBA. Discrete trial instruction is a cornerstone of the program, so familiarity or a willingness to master this method is highly valued.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Special Education Teacher certification for Connecticut
• Experience or interest in life skills education for young learners
• Ability to collaborate seamlessly with paraeducators and behavior specialists

What youll do:

• Provide individualized and small group instruction tailored to each childs needs
• Employ discrete trial teaching techniques to drive student growth
• Develop and update IEPs, maintaining clear communication with families and team members
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, RBT, and BCBA to optimize student support
