Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity supporting young learners as a leave replacement Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a vibrant K-2 setting. This contract role runs from ASAP through January 2027, providing vital instruction and advocacy for a caseload of 20-25 students. Necessary Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional), with a specialized endorsement in Deaf Education or Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Previous experience teaching or providing support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, particularly in early elementary grades, is highly valued
• Ability to adapt lessons and materials for diverse language and communication needs (ASL, spoken English, total communication, etc.)
• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with general education staff, families, and student support teams
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and accessible classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and specialized support tailored to each students IEP and communication needs
• Partner with other educators and related service providers to facilitate student success and full participation in school activities
• Maintain clear communication with families and staff, offering resources and recommendations as needed
• Monitor student progress, gather data, and adapt strategies to optimize results
• Champion a positive, communicative atmosphere where all students can thrive
