Job Description

Exciting opportunity available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students in an itinerant role near San Diego, CA. This full-time contract position begins October 5 to fill a maternity leave. Youll have the rewarding experience of working directly with students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ranging from preschool children through adult transition programs. The role involves providing both direct instruction and consultative services tailored to students unique communication and learning needs in a supportive, collaborative school environment.

Ideal candidates are passionate about fostering academic and social growth for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, and demonstrate flexibility to serve at different school sites. Priority is given to applicants able to work in person, but virtual service providers will be considered.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential with Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
• Experience working with students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, preferably in multiple grade levels
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to provide services in various educational settings (in-person or virtual)
• Commitment to individualized support, progress monitoring, and advocacy

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and consultation services to students and staff
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including families and specialists
• Offer professional development, strategies, and resources to educational staff
• Travel between assigned school sites if providing services in person
