Step into a rewarding contract position supporting young learners as a full-time leave replacement Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. In this vital role, youll provide specialized instruction to K-2 students, fostering both their academic growth and communication development. What Were Looking For:

• Active Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional) with Deaf Education or DHH endorsement
• Previous experience teaching or supporting deaf and hard of hearing students is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of early childhood educational needs and inclusive classroom practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Creative and flexible teaching approach tailored to individual learning styles and abilities

What You'll Do:

• Deliver engaging, accessible instruction aligned with K-2 curriculum and individual learning goals
• Employ a variety of communication methods, including sign language, visuals, and assistive technology
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional techniques to ensure continued development
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to create effective learning environments
• Foster a welcoming, supportive classroom that promotes confidence and self-advocacy
• Maintain accurate records and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed
