Step into an impactful, contract-based opportunity supporting young learners as a full-time leave replacement for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Beginning as soon as possible and continuing through January 2027, this role focuses on K-2 students and offers the chance to build meaningful relationships while helping children lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Youll work with a caseload of 20-25 students, partnering with families and educational staff to provide tailored instruction and accessibility in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional) with specialized Deaf Education or DHH endorsement
• Experience instructing Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting
• Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom climate

Responsibilities:

• Deliver adapted, evidence-based instruction to K-2 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting clear and measurable goals for each student
• Utilize a range of communication modalities, technology, and assistive devices to promote student access and engagement
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff
• Monitor student progress, documenting data and adjusting instruction as needed
• Advocate for students needs and ensure equitable access to curriculum and school activities
