• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
• Proven experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adapted instructional materials
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff
• Ability to assess individual needs and tailor instruction accordingly
• Organizational skills for effective case management and documentation

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments
• Teaching Braille literacy, orientation and mobility skills, and use of adaptive tools
• Consulting with classroom teachers to adapt materials and strategies for inclusive participation
• Supporting families with resources, progress updates, and advocacy
• Maintaining accurate records and participating in IEP meetings
• Staying current on best practices and technology advancements in the field
