Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Visual Impairment (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
- Familiarity with braille and assistive technology
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to develop and tailor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation
- Flexibility and adaptability to diverse learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to visually impaired students
- Assess students needs and adapt curriculum as needed
- Teach braille, orientation and mobility skills, and the use of adaptive technology
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise for student planning
- Develop instructional materials and resources for accessibility
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere
