Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired students or eligibility for certification
• Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and other accessible instructional materials
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• Compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting student growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students utilizing specialized techniques and resources for individuals with visual impairments
• Assess student needs and develop IEP goals in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Support classroom teachers and paraprofessionals with strategies and modifications
• Advocate for accessible learning materials and environments
• Track student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
